On a cold and rainy Thursday evening in downtown Toronto, as many bloggers and digital media influencers were gearing up for two of Canada’s biggest digital media networking conferences, ShesConnected and Blissdom; Toronto Mom Now was busy connecting our top bloggers and enjoying the fresh food and drinks at Panera Bread.

Earlier this year we asked you, our readers to help us find Toronto’s best mommy bloggers and after reviewing many nominations, we listed the top 30. We found that Toronto mom’s have a different perspective on parenting that is a little more urban and often very entertaining than other mommy bloggers and we were thrilled to highlight them on the site. We have also listed Toronto’s Top Portrait Photographers and were happy to connect our sharp shooters and bloggers with local business owners and entrepreneurs, as we geared up for a weekend of networking and making new connections.

Panera Bread on Yonge Street (just north of Dundas) was a great place to meet savvy mompreneurs and to congratulate our top bloggers in real life, as we learned about Panera’s philosophy to bring people together over fresh bread. We also learned that part of their company mandate is to give back to the community and that all of their leftover food gets sent to local shelters at the end of each day.

In addition to seeing many of our top bloggers and photographers, our publisher and City Mom Now owner, Christine Pilkington was also in town from Vancouver, to attend the event. We were thrilled to see our Top Blogger contest winners Reasons Mommy Drinks, who announced they’ve secured a book deal and are taking a break from the blog but look out for their 1st book out in 2013 which will contain much of our favourite online antidotal tales and ‘reasons mommy drinks.’

Another one of our top bloggers and owner of Everything Mom and Baby, Erica Ashmore was happy to win a yummy pastry ring from Panera and everyone in attendance received goody bags with fresh baked bread and recipes. The adults weren’t the only ones having a great time at our TMN Top 30 event, all the kids who came were treated to cookie decorating fun which garnered some very creative results.

Toronto Mom Now was happy to host our first Top 30 Blogger Meetup and will have more exciting events to announce in 2013, in the mean time the City Mom Now network is growing! If you’re a mom who loves experiencing all the best places to shop, dine and be entertained in your city, contact us to discuss launching your city today.
