A few weeks ago we asked you to nominate your favourite Toronto mom blogger for our third annual Top 30 Toronto Mom Bloggers contest. You came up with a fabulous list of bloggers. We visited the blogs, and we deliberated over our decisions. We narrowed the list to 30 mom bloggers. Now we’re presenting the 2014 Top 30 Toronto Mom Bloggers to you, in no particular order. Today we are introducing the next group of bloggers; 16 thru 20.
Top 30 Toronto Mom Bloggers 2014: 16-20
Renee Kaiman of My So Called Mommy Life
Sylvia Stefanova of Sylvia’s Simple Life
Sara Vartanian of Green Moms Collective
Mandy Furnis of Shinesparklylove
Joann MacDonald of Woman in Real Life
Renee Kaiman of My So Called Mommy Life
Renee Kaiman is the blogger behind My So-Called Mommy Life. Once upon a time she dreamed of performing musicals on Broadway but instead she performs them for her two kids during mealtimes. She would prefer to sing songs from RENT or Les Miserables but is often found singing The Wheels on the Bus or any song from Frozen to her almost 3 year old daughter and almost 1 year old son. Being told she was a poor writer in high school, Renee is thrilled that she has more than her family reading her blog where she chronicles her parenting adventures- the good, the bad and the ugly. Renee also shares products her family loves as well as hosts giveaways. In the real world, Renee has a Masters of Education with a background in behavioural therapy specializing in working with children with autism. If you are on twitter or Instagram (my new obsession) be sure to stop by and say hello @mscmommylife.
Sylvia Stefanova of Sylvia’s Simple Life
Sylvia Stefanova is a former teacher, current freelance photographer, writer, traveler, vintage-collector, knowledge-seeker, who believes strongly in the simple things in life that make every moment a gift. Holding a Master’s Degree in Education, she devoted years of teaching and lecturing, while one day the classroom become too “tight” and noisy to fulfill her creative and spiritual needs. With the encouragement of her sixth grade son then, she created her blog “ Sylvia’s Simple Life “only to discover that photography is what makes her feel alive and infinitely happy. She returned to the classroom but this time as a student of photography. Sylvia’s photography portfolio includes food, people, tiny whispers of beauty and she participates in different projects; including writing articles for magazines.
Sara Vartanian of Green Moms Collective
Sara Vartanian is an urban mama to two sweet little boys. She’s a teacher, a certified eco-maternity consultant, and a greenproofer. She loves eating summer peaches at farmer’s markets, trying new eco-beauty products, and wiping green smoothie moustaches off her boys’ upper lips. She started Green Moms Collective because she wanted to help moms to worry less by discussing how to make effective, simple changes for a healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle.
Mandy Furnis of SparkleShinyLove
Mandy Furnis’ blog sparkleshinylove is all about where to go, what to wear, and how to do it all while being a hip urban mom in the GTA. Mandy not only writes about fashion and trends for women, but also for stylish kids as well. Mandy writes about restaurants that are date-night worthy, or if they are kid-friendly. Mandy is the mom of a toddler and she juggles creating an amazing life for him, and making sure she fits in lots of fun events and parties for herself.
Joann MacDonald of Woman in Real Life
Joann is the (sometimes proud) mother of two beautiful children, a 9-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, both of whom were born at home in the company of Bronte the black lab. Joann became a writer two decades ago when she realized it was basically her only talent. After quitting her job in corporate communications three years ago, she now has a freelance writing business, writing web content, magazine articles and communications materials. Woman in Real Life helps her stay true to her goal of exploring the art in everyday life. Joann has been a vegetarian for almost 20 years. She hopes that you’ll grab a cup of tea and a sweet and join her in exploring parenting, thrift store finds, books and lots of vegan food.
